Who we are
LingoVale is made and run by Moonlathe Technologies Ltd in the United Kingdom. We decide how your personal data is used, which makes us the "controller" under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). Our company registration details will be added here as soon as registration is complete.

What we collect, and why

We don't collect your name, your address, your date of birth or any payment details. We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, and we never sell or share your data for marketing.
Your recordings
When you tap the microphone, your recording is sent to Microsoft's Azure Speech service, which compares it with the phrase and sends back a score. We don't store the recording, and it is not kept by Microsoft for any other purpose. You never have to speak: every answer can be tapped instead.
Who helps us
We use a small number of trusted companies to run LingoVale. They handle data only on our instructions, under contracts that require them to keep it safe.
- Cloudflare hosts the game and its database, stores the voice clips, sends our emails, and runs the voice model that reads the Spanish aloud. Only the Spanish phrase text goes to the voice model, never anything about you.
- Microsoft Azure Speech scores your pronunciation, as described above.
These providers may handle data outside the United Kingdom. When they do, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Your account and game progress: until you delete your account.
- If you clear your progress: your game data is deleted straight away, and your account stays.
- Sign in links and codes: they stop working after 15 minutes and are deleted within a day.
- Waitlist entries: until you get your place, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Daily usage counts: until you delete your account.
- Hosting logs: a few days, kept by Cloudflare.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- get a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
- have anything wrong corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to how we use it;
- receive your data in a form you can take elsewhere;
- withdraw your consent to the waitlist at any time.
You can delete everything yourself in the game: open Settings, then Account, then Delete my account. Everything goes at once, from your phone and from our servers. For anything else, write to hola@lingovale.com. We'll reply within one month.
Keeping it safe
Everything travels over encrypted connections. You sign in with a single use link or code, so there's no password to steal. Sign in links are stored only as scrambled codes, and your session can be ended on every device from Settings.
Children
LingoVale is for people aged 13 and over. If you're under 13, please don't sign up. If we learn that a child under 13 has an account, we'll delete it.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first at hola@lingovale.com and we'll put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. If a change matters, for example when paid plans start, we'll tell you by email before it happens.
